    Cover Background Area
    In This Topic

Places a uniform surface over a parking lot area.

If an image or a Google Map was imported to create a drawing for the parking lot background, the parking lot lines may be hard to distinguish against objects existing in the drawing (e.g. buildings, trees, or an old parking lot). In this case, the Cover Background Area tool can be used to place a uniform surface over the parking lot area, which will make the parking lot outline clearly noticeable. To keep the objects existing in the drawing visible, you can adjust the opacity of the background area.

To Create a Parking Lot Area and Fill the Background:

    1. On the Parking Tools toolbar, click Cover Background Area. The Cover Background Area dialog box displays.
    2. Set the color and opacity of the background area.
    3. In the drawing, click points to define the extents of the background area.
    4. When you have finished creating the background area, click the Accept Area button or right-click, and then click Accept Area on the shortcut menu.
    5. Click the Finish button or right-click, and then click Finish on the shortcut menu.
    6. (Optional) To modify the parameters of the background area, use the Cover Background Area options. The background area is dynamically updated as you change the parameters.
